You can get there on foot. After parking the car, continue on foot for about half an hour.
In the reserve there are some private homes and a tower dating back to the 16th century which was part of the coastal tower system of Sicily, as a defensive system for sighting Saracen ships. Now it is a small museum from where the three oriented walking paths start.
The imposing peak of Monte Cofano with its 659 m overlooking the sea can be reached via a single path that branches off from the main one and develops all around the reserve.
Travel times, including ascent to the top (variable depending on pace) range from 4 to 6 hours.
