The main dish of local gastronomy is couscous, a single dish of Maghreb origin which is traditionally served with a delicious fish soup but which can also be found in the numerous variations based on meat or vegetables. But the typical dessert of San Vito lo Capo is caldofreddo: a cup of ice cream served in the traditional terracotta "lemmo" and completed with whipped cream, sponge cake with rum and a delicious drizzle of hot chocolate, a perfect compromise between freshness and deliciousness.
